A little about Yunnan Garden

• Yunnan Garden alone has over 30 species of plants from Southeast Asia, China, India and America.
• It has been around since the beginning of Nantah (Nanyang University) in the 1950s.
• It has roughly maintained the way it looked since then (pavilions underwent restoration to look like the way they did).
• The Nantah Arch found in Yunnan Garden is actually a replica of the actual Nantah Arch which can now still be found in Jurong West St 93. The actual Nantah Arch served as the main entrance to the old Nanyang University prior to its redevelopment to the present Nanyand Technological University.
• True to Chinese traditions, Yunnan Garden is constructed with a line of symmetry down the middle with structures of importance such as the memorial and the Chinese Heritage Centre along the middle line.
